No. Cannabis is still federally illegal, so you cannot cross state lines with it.
Choosing cannabis is personal—it depends on what you’re looking to feel and how experienced you are. Sativas are often associated with energy and focus, indicas with relaxation, and hybrids land somewhere in between. But effects also come down to cannabinoids and terpenes, which shape how each strain hits. At Cookies Somerville, our staff is here to break it down and help you find something that matches your mood, lifestyle, or goals.
Massachusetts law permits you to carry up to one ounce of cannabis and possess up to 10 ounces in your home.
No, Massachusetts law doesn’t allow on-site consumption. That means you can’t smoke, vape, or eat edibles in the cannabis dispensary or in public areas nearby. The best option is to enjoy your purchase at home or in another private space where it’s legal and comfortable.
Not every product is designed for intoxication. CBD, one of the plant’s main cannabinoids, is non-psychoactive and offers potential benefits like relaxation, focus, or relief from stress—without the high of THC. We carry CBD-dominant products, balanced ratios, and other options our team can recommend if you’re curious about the plant but want a gentler experience.
Cannabis should be kept in its original packaging, sealed tightly, and stored somewhere cool and dark to maintain freshness. Massachusetts law requires that if you have more than one ounce of marijuana at home, it must be stored securely. Beyond that, we strongly recommend keeping all cannabis out of reach of children and pets.
Yes, but it must be sealed and stored away from the driver—such as in the trunk or a locked glove box. Having an open container in the passenger area is treated similarly to open alcohol and could lead to fines of up to $500. It’s best to keep your products closed and stashed until you’re home.
